With computer animation as my major in college at Pratt Institute character development was important to me. I have always adored the wondrous creatures in fantasy and mythology, so I wanted to conceive an original creature concept along with an appropriate environment. I developed a creature design by mixing attributes from tree frogs, turtles, and mushrooms. The evolved species of character became known as "Munchrooms."

I determined the Munchrooms must naturally be about the size of a mushroom because of their shape, so they had to live below the grass line. However, I decided the field they inhabit would be perceived as a thick grass canopy engulfed in mist, much like the rain forests tree frogs are commonly found in. This gave me a very rich lucious environment to work with.
