With computer animation as my major in college at Pratt Institute character development was important to me. I have always adored the wondrous creatures in fantasy and mythology, so I wanted to conceive an original creature concept along with an appropriate environment. I developed a creature design by mixing attributes from tree frogs, turtles, and mushrooms. The evolved species of character became known as "Munchrooms."

These color illustrations were some of my final concept designs before bringing my creature characters to life in the animated virtual realm. I gave the Munchrooms a shell for protection to hide under, but I also wanted them to be nimble. After determining their mushroom cap upper bodies I then needed to find a suitable place for them to sit upon.
