The messengers in New York City hosted the thirteenth annual Cycle Messenger World Championships in July of 2005. Unfortunately I was quite busy with various aspects in organizing the event, so I was unable to submit a logo proposal of my own for the event. Luckily a very talented artist within the New York Messenger community, named Gregory Ugalde, illustrated a lovely image for the CMWC. However, Gregory is not skilled in computer graphics, so I was tasked with fully converting his image into a more widely usable digital format.

To ensure the respect Gregory's art deserved I first scanned his image at a high resolution, then I digitally traced every visible stroke by hand into vector-based line art. I also matched his drawn text as closely as possible into a consistent font and intensified the colors in his color pencil drawing of the globe. The enhanced end result was an image Gregory was very pleased with. It was also capable of being enlarged into any size without visual degradation since I had converted it into a vector format. It was used on merchandise, posters, postcards, banners, and even hundreds of photo IDs for all the competitors.
