During the several years of my involvement with the New York Bike Messenger Association I have organized and assisted others in setting up and promoting many events. The sample flyer on display is just one of numerous flyers I frequently designed for such events. Over the Memorial Weekends of 1999 and 2000 I coordinated a camping excursion for New York City messengers called "Bike n' Hike." It involved a four to five hour cycling tour approximately 50 miles up along the Hudson River to the Bear Mountain area in Harriman State Park. About one to two dozen couriers participated each year by camping for three days before riding back down to New York City. Bike n' Hike provided otherwise urban-entrapped workers a little escape within the peace and quiet of nature.
